Bengal polls 2016: Babul Supriyo chases 'drunk' TMC protestor
Kolkata, April 21: Union Minister of State for Urban Development Babul Supriyo was allegedly heckled by Trinamool Congress (TMC) supporters at the time of casting his ballot in a booth in Jorashanko constituency in North Kolkata on Thursday.
Supriyo, a singer-MP, came to cast his ballot along with his parents and they were accompanied by two bodyguards. As soon as they reached the booth, a few TMC workers started shouting at the minister asking why did he come with so many people. They started protesting and also tried to obstruct his entry into the booth.

Supriyo, however, did not give up and chased one of the TMC workers who was allegedly drunk and caught hold of him. The person was handed over to the police. Supriyo also accused the police of remaining inactive while the TMC refuted the charges of trying to stop Supriyo.
TMC candidate from Jorashanko Smita Bakshi accused Supriyo, who is the MP from Asansol, of creating the problem.
The TMC supporters protested when Babul was returning from polling. They were also heard shouting "Go Back" slogan against the central minister.
