West Bengal: Marriage turns into tragedy; 15 including bride, groom killed in accident

Alipurduar (WB), May 1: Fifteen persons of a marriage party, including the bride and the groom, were killed and six others injured when their vehicle collided with a truck on National Highway 31 near Madarihat in this district on Friday.

The vehicle, carrying 18 persons of a marriage party, was coming from Birpara after the marriage ceremony and collided with the truck coming from the opposite direction this morning, Superintendent of Police Akash Meghariya said.

Fifteen persons, including the bride and bridegroom, died on the spot, he said.

All the six injured were admitted to a hospital in a critical condition.
