According to the reports in the Kerala media, she was injured in a rocket attack around Saturday noon. At the time of the incident, she was on call with her husband and a loud noise was heard in the background.

The call abruptly ended and thereafter her family members could not reach her over the phone. They got to know about her injury, a little later.

For seven years, Sheeja has been working as a caretaker nurse in Ashkelon.

Sheeja suffered injuries to her hands, legs, and stomach due to the explosion of the missile. Family members informed that she underwent an urgent surgical procedure and is currently receiving medical care at a hospital in Tel Aviv. The incident was reported to Sheeja's family by her friends.

The family of Sheeja has now claimed that they spoke to her over a video call on Sunday. She may have to undergo a surgery for a spinal injury, they have been informed by her.

"I saw her on video call for a few seconds. She just mumbled Amma. Now we are told that she had a spinal injury as well. We are worried," Deccan Chronicle quoted her as saying.

On the other hand, another woman Nimisha from Kerala is safe. She is working as a nurse in Zichron Yaakov. "We have been issued strict instructions by the local authorities to stay indoors and not to venture out of our places of dwelling. Last evening, we came to know that armed persons suspected to be Hamas terrorists who infiltrated Hadera and Netanya were caught by the security personnel," she said.

"They knock at the doors masquerading as army personnel. We have been told not to open doors to strangers," she added. Nimisha has been in Israel for six months.

In an operation coined 'the Al-Aqsa Storm,' Hamas, whose formal name is the Islamic Resistance Movement, fired thousands of rockets into Israel on Saturday. Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad fighters infiltrated Israel by land, sea and air. Hundreds of Israelis have been killed, more than 2,000 injured, and many taken hostage.
