ADGP orders for investigation on security negligence during Kerala CM's visit

Idukki: An investigation was ordered by Kerala Intelligence ADGP on security negligence during CM Oommen Chandy's visit to the district.

On last Sunday, a stage had been set up at Thankamani to organise a programme which was attended by the Chief Minister Oommen Chandy.

But there is a strong allegation that the organisers have not obtained a clearance certificate from KSEB to set up the stage.

The programme was organised during the inauguration of the panchayat office at Kamakshi.

The preliminary investigation conducted by District Police Chief K V Joseph states that the police wanted to check the electrification of the stages before the event, but the district electrical inspector did not answer the repeated phone calls from the police.

The report submitted to Intelligence ADGP A Hemachandran and Kochi Range IG M R Ajith Kumar also states that the police officials were compelled to check the venue and they were forced to give an approval, at the eleventh hour.

Kattappana DySP PK Jagadeesh has been asked to file a detailed report on the complaint.
