Two buried alive as earth around pit caves in Rajasthan

Jaipur, Sep 8: Two men were buried alive when the earth around a pit in which they were performing some ritual for the construction of a shop caved in at Sriganganagar district of Rajasthan.

The incident occurred near Indira circle in Suratgarh city when an 8-feet deep pit dug upfor the ground breaking ceremony of a shop collapsed.

Suresh Arora, constructor of the shop and a priest Jagidsh Sharma (55) were inside the pit when the mishap took place, investigating officer Mahaveer Prasad said.

Govind, a labourer, who was also trapped in the pit but survived and is being treated at a local hospital, he said.
