X Platform Down: Thousands Affected As Elon Musk’s Social Media Service Experiences Global Outage
Elon Musk's social media site X, formerly known as Twitter, experienced a severe global outage on Friday, affecting millions of users globally. Both mobile and desktop users reported problems, with over 5,000 complaints documented on Downdetector worldwide.
According to reports, users cannot log in, refresh feeds, or upload anything on the platform. The outage affected both Android and iPhone mobile users, as well as PC users. In India, many dissatisfied users turned to alternate social networking networks to establish that X was not loading correctly and displayed error messages.

This is not the first time X has experienced downtime, and so far, neither Elon Musk nor X Corp have issued any official statement explaining the cause of the disruption. It remains unclear whether the outage is due to server problems, maintenance work, or a possible cyberattack.
X, a microblogging platform owned by Elon Musk, allows users to share real-time updates in short posts called "tweets." The platform is accessible via iOS, Android, and web applications and boasts millions of active daily users worldwide.
As the outage persists, users have taken to rival platforms like Threads, Facebook, and Instagram to voice their frustration and seek updates. The disruption comes at a time when X has been increasingly relied upon for breaking news and real-time public discourse.
Some tech analysts speculate that frequent outages may erode user trust, especially with no communication from the platform's leadership. Businesses and media houses that depend on X for audience engagement have also reported setbacks. Until an official explanation is provided, speculation about the cause of the outage-ranging from server overload to possible cyber threats-continues to grow.
