World's First Trillionaire? Elon Musk Leads, With An Indian Expected To Follow
Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, is to become the world's first trillionaire by 2027, according to a report from Dubai-based Informa Connect Academy. His wealth has been growing at an annual rate exceeding 110%, reaching a remarkable $241 billion, as per Bloomberg's billionaire index.

Following closely behind Musk is Indian industrialist Gautam Adani, who is expected to become the second person to achieve trillionaire status by 2028. Adani's fortune has been increasing at an impressive rate of 123% annually.
India's Wealth Surge
India has seen a significant rise in wealth creation recently. A Fortune India report highlighted that the combined wealth of the country's richest individuals has surpassed $1 trillion, reaching $1.19 trillion (Rs 99.86 lakh crore). This includes 185 dollar billionaires.
Leading this wealth surge are Gautam Adani and Mukesh Ambani, each with fortunes exceeding Rs 10 trillion. The Shapoorji Pallonji family follows closely with a combined wealth of Rs 3,64,932 crore.
Other Billionaires on the Rise
Besides Musk and Adani, other billionaires like Nvidia founder Jensen Huang, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, and LVMH's Bernard Arnault are also anticipated to cross the trillion-dollar mark by 2030.
The Hurun India Rich List 2024 reveals that India has been creating a new billionaire every five days throughout 2023. This has added 1,539 ultra-wealthy individuals with fortunes exceeding Rs 1,000 crore.
Asian Billionaires' Rankings
The Bloomberg real-time index ranks Mukesh Ambani as the richest Asian with $111 billion, followed by Gautam Adani at $99.6 billion.
This rapid increase in wealth among India's elite underscores the nation's growing economic power and influence on the global stage.
