Woman arrested in connection with Dhaka cafe attack
Dhaka, July 22: A woman has been arrested in Bangladesh after her involvement in the Dhaka cafe attack was suspected. The lady, Ruma Akthar is said to have been picked up for questioning, but police officials in Dhaka have denied any such development.
The police want to be absolutely sure about any involvement before making the detention or arrest public. 22 people were killed in Dhaka after terrorists of the Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen, Bangladesh struck at a cafe earlier this month.

The hunt for a lady suspect was on after CCTV footage suggested the involvement of a woman in the attack. The CCTV footage of the Dhaka attack which was released by the police shows a lady in traditional attire and a bag slung on her shoulder near the cafe.
There was no trace of the lady later and this led the investigators to get suspicious about the involvement of a woman. Ruma Akthar who is suspected to be the lady in the CCTV footage was picked up by the Dhaka Metropolitan Police.
According to the local media, Biju Mia, father of Ruma Akhtar, said that detectives took her away from their house saying she was a suspect in the July 1 attack. "We have heard about the detention of one Ruma from (residents)," a local police official said.
