Who Was Vaishnav Krishnakumar? Story of the Indian Teen Golden Visa Holder Who Died in Dubai

An 18-year-old Indian student in Dubai, Vaishnav Krishnakumar, tragically passed away during Diwali celebrations after collapsing suddenly. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

Authorities confirmed the cause of death as cardiac arrest. The Dubai Police Forensic Department has launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident. Arrangements are underway to repatriate his body to Kerala for the last rites. Vaishnav's family said he had no prior history of heart issues.

Born and Raised in Dubai, Strong Ties to Kerala

Vaishnav was from Chennithala, Alappuzha, Kerala, but spent most of his life in Dubai along with his younger sister, Vrishti Krishnakumar. His parents, VG Krishnakumar and Vidhu Krishnakumar, have been long-term residents of the UAE, with his father working there for more than 20 years.

"They rarely visited Chennithala. The last time they came here was two years ago. Vaishnav and his sister were born and brought up in Dubai. He was a smart and intelligent boy with most of his friends there," a family relative told PTI.

Academic Life and Golden Visa Achievement

Vaishnav was a first-year BBA Marketing student at Middlesex University Dubai and an alumnus of GEMS Our Own Indian School. He was also a recipient of the UAE Golden Visa, a special long-term residence visa that allows foreigners to live, work, and study in the UAE for 5 or 10 years without a local sponsor.

Apart from his academics, he actively participated in Model United Nations (MUN), serving as President of the MUN Club and previously as Vice President. He chaired several MUN committees and won multiple awards, including Best Delegate and Best Chair, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Professional Experience and Leadership

Vaishnav also gained work experience through internships at Kendal and Uniplus in Dubai. His leadership roles, academic achievements, and extracurricular involvement highlighted his promising future, making his sudden death a shocking loss for his family and community.
