Prime Minister Narendra Modi begins a four-day three-nation visit to Jordan, Ethiopia and Oman, focusing on stronger political and economic ties. In a departure note, Modi said India enjoys "age-old civilizational ties and extensive contemporary bilateral relations" with all three partners, underlining how the trip is meant to deepen cooperation across diplomacy, trade and people-to-people links.

The final stop in the itinerary is the Sultanate of Oman, which officials describe as a key highlight of the journey. Modi travels to Muscat on the invitation of Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, in what will be Modi’s second visit to the country. The trip coincides with 70 years of diplomatic relations between India and Oman, giving both sides space to review strategic priorities.

During the Oman leg, Modi is expected to address members of the Indian community and hold wide-ranging talks. About the Muscat programme, Modi said, "In Muscat, I look forward to my discussions with His Majesty the Sultan of Oman, and towards strengthening our Strategic Partnership as well as our strong commercial and economic relationship," signalling attention on defence, energy and business cooperation.

The tour opens in Jordan, where Modi meets King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein and Prime Minister Jafar Hassan. This visit marks 75 years since India and Jordan established diplomatic ties, giving both governments a formal moment to refresh bilateral engagement. Modi has also planned an interaction with the Indian diaspora, who Modi said have "made significant contributions to India–Jordan relations".

From Amman, Modi heads to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia for talks with Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali. Alongside official meetings, Modi will speak to the Indian community and address a joint session of the Ethiopian Parliament. Modi stated, "I will also have the privilege to address the Joint Session of Parliament, where I eagerly look forward to sharing my thoughts on India's journey as the 'Mother of Democracy' and the value that the India–Ethiopia partnership can bring to the Global South," highlighting political dialogue and South-South cooperation.

The three-nation schedule brings together political outreach, diaspora engagement and milestone anniversaries for India’s diplomacy. Modi’s meetings with top leaders in Jordan, Ethiopia and Oman, his speeches and the focus on historical ties are set to reinforce India’s presence in West Asia and Africa while keeping long-standing partnerships aligned with present-day goals.
