Grand Arrival Of PM Modi In Singapore

Modi's arrival at Singapore's Changi Airport followed his visit to Brunei. He was greeted by the Indian High Commissioner to Singapore, Shilpak Ambule, and Singapore's High Commissioner to India, Simon Wong, along with other officials.

During his stay in Singapore, PM Modi will meet with Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong to review the progress of the India-Singapore Strategic Partnership. The two leaders are expected to discuss a range of regional and global issues of mutual interest, as confirmed by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA). Additionally, Modi will call on Singapore President Tharman Shanmugaratnam and engage with the country's leadership and business community.

Before arriving in Singapore, PM Modi concluded an official visit to Brunei, where he held comprehensive discussions with Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah at Istana Nurul Iman in Bandar Seri Begawan. The talks focused on enhancing bilateral ties between India and Brunei, particularly in areas such as defense, trade, investment, space, energy, health, and cultural exchanges.

PM Modi also took the opportunity to inaugurate the new Chancery of the High Commission of India in Brunei's capital, Bandar Seri Begawan, and visited the historic Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque. The visit to Brunei highlighted the commitment of both nations to further strengthen their partnership.

In a post on X, PM Modi expressed his satisfaction with the talks in Brunei, stating, "Delighted to meet His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah. Our talks were wide-ranging and included ways to further cement bilateral ties between our nations. We are going to further expand trade ties, commercial linkages, and people-to-people exchanges."

The visit to Brunei, followed by the engagements in Singapore, underscores India's focus on deepening its relationships with Southeast Asian nations as part of its broader diplomatic strategy.
