PM Modi Kicks Off Two-Nation Tour
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to engage in talks with Brunei's top leadership, focusing on enhancing bilateral relations between the two nations. Ahead of his departure, a statement was released by Modi, in which he expressed his anticipation for the visit, stating, "Today, I am embarking on the first-ever bilateral visit to Brunei Darussalam. As we celebrate 40 years of diplomatic relations, I look forward to meeting His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah and other esteemed members of the Royal family to elevate our historical relationship to new heights."

The Ministry of External Affairs commented on the visit, noting that India's cooperation with Brunei in various existing sectors, including defence cooperation, trade and investment, energy, space technology, health cooperation, capacity building, culture, and people-to-people exchanges, would be further strengthened. Additionally, avenues for collaboration in newer sectors will also be explored.
Indian Diaspora Eagerly Awaits PM Modi's Visit To Brunei
Members of the Indian diaspora eagerly awaited Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Visit in Brunei, expressing their excitement and anticipation.
"We are all very excited. We've been waiting for his visit for the past few years, and finally, we will get to see him. We are all very happy," a member of the diaspora told ANI. Another member shared, "I am thrilled to see PM Modi. We take pride in the changes he has brought and in India's recognition as a global leader."
Following his visit to Brunei, Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to travel to Singapore on Wednesday, where he will meet with President Tharman Shanmugaratnam, Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, Senior Minister Lee Hsien Loong, and Emeritus Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong.
