WATCH | Indian-American CEO's Air India Flight Nightmare: Shocking Experience Goes Viral!

An Indian-American passenger has taken to TikTok to criticize and condemn Air India for what he described as the "worst" experience while travelling on a non-stop flight from New Delhi to Chicago in a business-class seat.

Anip Patel, CEO of CaPatel Investments, shared that his journey was a "nightmare," despite paying $6,300 for the experience.

Patel's dissatisfaction with Air India came to light as he posted a video on TikTok, where he voiced his frustrations. The CEO began by sharing, "Come with me on the worst first-class cabin I have ever been on," giving viewers a glimpse of the underwhelming conditions he encountered during the flight.

Despite Air India's promise of a $400 million refurbishment program, which aims to elevate the passenger experience and overhaul 67 of its aircraft, including 27 Airbus A320neos and 40 Boeing planes, Patel's experience left him thoroughly disappointed. The airline's efforts to become a world-class carrier appeared to have fallen short, at least on this particular flight.

In the video, Patel revealed that the cabin he was seated in was in a state of disrepair. "Look at how gross this is," he said, showing various parts of the cabin, from compartments with loose parts to ripped and dirty areas. He acknowledged that regular wear and tear is expected but stressed that this went beyond the usual level of damage.

His criticism didn't stop there. Patel went on to describe how even basic amenities were unsatisfactory. A white towel, meant to be served warm, was handed to him cold. Despite a collaboration with Ferragamo, the service seemed lacklustre. He mentioned that while the pyjamas provided were soft, the headphones were in poor condition, untangled, and dirty.

Further disappointment arose with the food service. According to Patel, only 30% of the items listed on the menu were available. "Four of us in the entire cabin, and it was basically first-come, first-served," he explained. Additionally, his meal was served without a tablecloth initially, something the flight attendant eventually rectified. "The samosa was very average, and while the soup was absolutely delicious, that was the only good thing on the flight," Patel added.

Entertainment, or the lack thereof, was another point of frustration. "The entertainment system didn't work for the entire 15-hour flight," he shared, and there was no Wifi available either. He even noted how parts of the cabin were held together with tape.

As Patel concluded his TikTok video, he expressed his deep dissatisfaction with Air India, describing the entire journey as a "total nightmare."

This negative experience comes at a time when Air India has promised significant improvements through its refurbishment program, leaving some to wonder whether the airline's efforts are falling short in reality.
