War of Words: Trump, Zelensky, and Vance Face Off In Oval Office | Watch

In a tense Oval Office meeting on Friday, President Donald Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky clashed over U.S. assistance to Ukraine and the ongoing conflict with Russia. The discussion quickly turned heated as differences in opinion surfaced.

What Led to the Confrontation?
Vice President Vance criticized Zelensky, accusing him of engaging in "propaganda tours" and lobbying American media for support.

"I think it's disrespectful for you to come into the Oval Office and try to litigate this in front of the American media," Vance remarked. "You're forcing conscripts to the frontlines because of manpower shortages. You should be thanking the president."

Zelensky fired back, asking, "Have you ever been to Ukraine?"

Vance was quick to respond: "You bring people on propaganda tours. Do you think it's respectful to come to the U.S. Oval Office and attack the administration trying to prevent the destruction of your country? You went to Pennsylvania and campaigned for the opposition in October. Show some appreciation for the United States and the president working to save your country."

Unfazed, Zelensky countered: "Everybody has problems, even you. But you have a nice ocean-you don't feel it now, but you will in the future."

Trump Steps In

As the exchange intensified, Trump interjected firmly, warning Zelensky against making assumptions about the U.S. stance.

"Don't tell us what we're going to feel," Trump asserted. "We're trying to solve a problem. You're not in a position to dictate what we'll feel. Right now, you're not in a strong position. You don't have the cards. You're gambling with World War III. It's going to be difficult to do business like this. You need to be more thankful."

Why Was Zelensky in Washington?
Zelensky's visit to the White House aimed to finalize an agreement regarding Ukraine's mineral resources and discuss potential peace negotiations with Russia. The confrontation in the Oval Office came despite Trump recently softening his tone on Zelensky, following previous remarks in which he labeled the Ukrainian leader a "dictator without elections" and blamed Ukraine for provoking Russia's 2022 invasion.
