Vice principal rescued from doomed South Korean ferry found hanging

The vice principal Kang Min-Kyu, 52, was found hanging near the gymnasium where relatives of the 268 people still missing from the ferry disaster have been staying. The police haven't concluded on the exact cause of death.

Reportedly, the police said the vice principal was found hanging from a tree having apparently committed suicide.
The vice principal was among 179 people who managed to escape the ferry in the few hours before it capsized and sank. The ferry carrying 475 people it capsized Wednesday morning. According to police, 352 were students from Danwon High School in Ansan city, who were on a school picnic to the popular southern resort island of Jeju.
