Venezuela: Beauty queen, partner shot dead; 5-yr old daughter spared

Monica Spear was shot dead, along with her partner in front of their 5-year old daughter. Suspected to be shot in an attempt of robbery, the criminals fled from the site after shooting them, without stealing anything. However, they spared their daughter. The family was on a holiday in Venezuela.

According to a report by NDTV.com, police sources say that their car had broken down on a highway in the northwestern Venezuela late on Monday night. The car had hit an object placed on the middle of the road, which the police suspect was planted strategically by the miscreants.

When they were being helped out by a passing tow truck, five people emerged on the road and started shooting at them incessantly. The three had tried hard to shield themselves from the showering bullets by locking themselves up in the car, but to no use. Meanwhile, the tow truck operators fled from the stop to inform the police.

While the parents were dead, the daughter was alive with injuries in the right leg. However, she is stable now with medical help.
