US Woman Claims Disfigurement After Dentist Performs 32 Procedures In One Sitting

A Minnesota woman has taken legal action against her dentist, alleging that he conducted 32 procedures in a single sitting, resulting in distress and disfigurement, as reported by the New York Post.

Kathleen Wilson initiated a civil lawsuit against Dr. Kevin Molldrem, asserting that he performed an excessive number of procedures in a single visit and misrepresented the amount of anesthesia administered.

According to her lawsuit, Wilson states that in July 2020, within a span of five and a half hours, Molldrem executed eight dental crowns, four root canals, and 20 fillings. The aftermath left Wilson in pain, feeling embarrassed, disfigured, and deeply distressed.

She further alleges that Molldrem excessively used anesthesia and falsified her medical records.

Wilson had to seek assistance from multiple other dentists to rectify the problems caused by Molldrem.

Her assertions have received support from Dr. Avrum Goldstein, an experienced Florida dentist. In his evaluation, Goldstein acknowledged severe decay in "virtually every tooth" in Wilson's mouth. However, he criticized Molldrem's treatment plan, describing it as rushed and substandard.

"Katie needed a gradual, thoughtful, and meticulous approach to address her condition," Goldstein wrote. "Attempting to address every dental issue in one session not only contradicts the recommended approach but is also impossible to execute effectively or constructively."

Goldstein also corroborated Wilson's claim of excessive anesthesia. While the recommended maximum dosage for an extended appointment is 490 milligrams, Wilson received nearly double the prescribed amount during her July 2020 session with Molldrem-960 milligrams of anesthesia.
