US Warns Iran 'Not To Get Involved' As Israel-Hamas War Escalates
The top military official in the United States issued a stern warning to Iran on Monday, 9th October, cautioning them against becoming entangled in the ongoing crisis in Israel, as reported by Reuters.
General Charles Q Brown, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, expressed his desire to prevent the conflict from escalating further, especially as the Lebanese armed group Hezbollah launched a barrage of rockets into northern Israel.

The White House had earlier on Monday, suggested Iran's complicity, although the United States lacked concrete intelligence or evidence linking Iran directly to the attacks carried out by the Palestinian Islamist group Hamas against Israel.
When asked about his message to Iran, General Brown emphasized, "Not to get involved."
On the same day, Israeli shelling in Lebanon resulted in the deaths of at least three Hezbollah militants, and Israel reported the loss of one of its officers during an earlier cross-border raid claimed by Palestinian forces in Lebanon.
This cross-border violence marked a significant expansion of the conflict between Israel and Palestinian militants in Gaza, reaching the Israeli-Lebanese border in the north.
Notably, Iran-backed Hezbollah and Israel engaged in a brutal month-long war back in 2006.
General Brown conveyed the United States' intention to send a clear and forceful message to Iran, emphasizing the desire to prevent any further escalation. He made these remarks while speaking to a small group of reporters accompanying him on his way to Brussels, marking his first public comments since being confirmed in his role last month.
Brown said, "We want to send a pretty strong message. We do not want this to broaden and the idea is for Iran to get that message loud and clear," as quoted by the Reuters report.
In response to the weekend attack by Hamas, the U.S. military is taking action by increasing the supply of air defenses, munitions, and other security assistance to Israel. Additionally, the Pentagon announced its decision to deploy an aircraft carrier strike group closer to Israel on Sunday, 8th October.
General Brown highlighted that this move not only demonstrates strong support for Israel but also aims to send a powerful message of deterrence to prevent the conflict from spreading further. Brown said, "It sends a very strong message of support for Israel. But it's also to send a strong message of deterrence to contain broadening this particular conflict".
He even drew a comparison between the actions of Hamas and those of Islamic State militants.
Brown has also been US Central Command's deputy commander and oversaw military operations in the Middle East and partnered air operations against Ismalic State (ISIL).
It's evident that the United States is closely monitoring the situation in the region and is taking proactive measures to support its ally, Israel.
