'US spy agency NSA developing quantum computer to crack privacy codes'

ed
Washington, Jan 3: The US spy agency National Security Agency (NSA) is reportedly making a 'quantum computer' to crack most security codes.

According to The Washington Post report, the NSA is racing to build a computer that could break nearly every kind of encryption used to protect banking, medical, business and government records around the world.

The report was based on documents leaked by former NSA contractor Edward Snowden.

The research is part of a $79.7 million research programme called " Penetrating Hard Targets," the newspaper said.

However, NSA has not given any comment on the making of such computer.
