US primary polls close in Ohio, N Carolina

Cleveland (US), Mar 16: Polls closed in the US states of Ohio and North Carolina -- a key date in the race for the White House, with frontrunners Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton looking to consolidate their leads.

Voters were still casting ballots in Florida, Illinois and Missouri. US networks made no early projections in the various contests, which are seen as crucial to shaping the Republican and Democratic nominating races.
