US Prez poll 2016: How Democrats Abroad vote

Washington, March 8: Members of the Democratic Party living all over the world have participated in the election for the party's presidential candidate for this year's presidential election scheduled on November 8.

Only the Democratic Party gives the opprtunity to its members living abroad.

How Democrats abroad vote:

Democrats Abroad is the Democratic Party's official organisation for American citizens living permanently or temporarily abroad. The 2016 Democratic Party global presidential primary for Democrats Abroad took place between March 1 and 8, 2016.

The voting can be done by postal mail, fax, email or in person.

Democrats Abroad will send 21 delegates to the Democratic National Convention (DNC) to be held in Philadelphia in July. Eight of these delegates will be members on the DNC.

Participation process:

One way of taking part in the global presidentia primary is by voting in person at one of the 121 official voting centres in over 40 countres, between March 1 and 8.

If one is unable to vote in person, then he/she can download a ballot and return it by postal mail, fax or an email attachment. One can send only one ballot per email or fax message. One also has to be a member of Democrats Abroad to vote in the global presidential primary.
