Wagah Border terror attack: US offers help to Pakistan for probe

Condemning the horrific suicide attack as a "senseless terrorist act", Ambassador Richard Olson said it demonstrates terrorists' blatant disregard for life.
"This act demonstrates terrorists' blatant disregard for life. The United States remains steadfast in its commitment to the people of Pakistan in their efforts to counter terrorism, uphold the rule of law, and build a peaceful future for themselves and their children," Olson said in a statement.
"The US supports Pakistan's efforts to bring all those involved in planning and executing this attack to justice and stand ready to provide any appropriate assistance to authorities investigating this tragic attack," he said.
Offering condolences to the victims, he said, "On behalf of the American people, I extend my heartfelt sympathies and condolences to the families of the victims as well as to the Government and people of Pakistan."
At least 61 people were killed and nearly 200 injured when a suicide attacker detonated a powerful bomb at Wagah in Pakistan yesterday, minutes after the popular flag-lowering ceremony at the main Indo-Pak land border crossing.
