Marco Rubio, the US Secretary of State, stated on Sunday that the United States keeps an eye on India and Pakistan's situation on a daily basis. This follows Donald Trump's repeated assertions of mediating a ceasefire between the two countries. Rubio told NBC News, "One of the complications of ceasefires is maintaining them, which is very difficult. Every single day, we are keeping an eye on what is happening between Pakistan & India."

India has refuted any claims of external mediation in its truce with Pakistan. The two nations had engaged in military actions against each other following a terror attack in Pahalgam. Despite Trump's assertions, India maintains that no third party has been involved in their peace efforts.
