US Hate Crime: Six Temples In California Targeted In Past 2 Weeks, Says Indian-American Politician
As India celebrates the welcome of the Ram idol in Ayodhya, claims have been made by Ritesh Tandon, the Democratic candidate running for election to the US House to represent California's 17th Congressional District, that several temples were vandalized over the past two weeks. Senator Aisha Wahab was called out, alleging inaction after the temples were attacked in California.

"It might be the time to consider a recall," he said, referring to Wahab. Taking to x, formerly known as Twitter, Tondon wrote, "Today, we held a protest rally in front of Senator Wahab's office, seeking a meeting with her or her staff. Unfortunately, despite being within office hours on a working day, the office was closed. This situation highlights the use of your tax dollars and suggests it might be time to consider a recall."

Despite Wahab condemning the attacks on temples in California last week, incidents continue to occur. "The ongoing vandalism of Hindu temples across the Bay area must stop. There is no room for such hatred in our communities," she expressed.

In the previous month, pro-Khalistan graffiti was found defacing a Hindu temple in Hayward, California. This incident occurred a few weeks after the Swaminarayan temple in Newark, California, was also defaced with anti-India graffiti.
