US govt arrests father for son's playful fall
Oregon, Aug 1: In one of a kind incident in the US, an Indian father was arrested and sent for counselling as his son slid from his back while playing and had a hairline fracture.
The incident happened in Beaverton, Oregon. The incident came to light when the mother, also an Indian, rushed the boy to the hospital. Speaking to the media here, she said under anonimity, that the boy was playfully trying to climb the father's back when he slipped and fell hard. When he was taken to the doctor, the latter found a hairline fracture to the left tibia.

On the mention of being "dropped", the child was taken in US custody and rushed to teh Randall Children's Hospital at Legacy Emanuel in Portland, which has a specialist Child Abuse Assessment Team on call. The followed a rally of visits from the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and police who asked the mother to sign a number of papers, she did not understand.
The father, meanwhile, was instructed to stay away from home and the children.
After a series of medical counselling, parenting lessons, the family was allowed back together, only to be separated again when the couple were again brought to trial where, this time, the woman was found mentally sick and the father guilty of third degree assault and criminal mistreatment in the first degree, "based on an allegation of abuse occurring in Feb 2015."
While , the duo applied for a bail of $1000, the duo are still struggling to get the help of the US consulate in San Francisco.
