US Election Result 2024: Who’s Winning Which State? Check Here's The Complete List
The first results of the 2024 U.S. presidential election are coming in, with Republican leader Donald Trump projected to secure wins in Indiana, Kentucky, West Virginia, Florida, and Arkansas.
Meanwhile, Vice President Kamala Harris is set to claim victories in Vermont, Delaware, and New Jersey. According to the latest trends, Harris has secured 109 electoral votes from nine states, while Trump has 198 from 20 states, as reported by the Associated Press. A total of 270 electoral votes are needed to win the presidency.

The early results are as expected, with the race now focusing on seven key swing states: Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. Opinion polls leading up to Election Day indicated a tight race in all seven states.
Trump is also projected to win Alabama, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Tennessee, while Harris is on track to win the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Massachusetts.
Battleground State of Pennsylvania
In Pennsylvania, considered the most pivotal battleground, Harris is currently leading with 68.4% of the votes counted, while Trump trails at 30.7%. The early results mostly reflect mail-in ballots, which have traditionally favored Democratic candidates. However, the gap is narrowing as Election Day votes are tallied.
Georgia's Shift
Trump is leading in another crucial battleground state, Georgia, with more than a third of the votes counted. Some counties, particularly the Democratic-leaning suburbs of Atlanta, have yet to report. More than 4 million Georgians cast their ballots before Election Day.
Scenario If Both Candidates Win Their Strongholds
If both Kamala Harris and Donald Trump win all the states traditionally supporting their respective parties, Harris would still be 44 electoral votes short of victory, while Trump would fall 51 votes short. In this case, the outcome of the election would depend on the 93 electoral votes from the remaining swing states.
The Rust Belt states-Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin-were key to Trump's 2016 victory but flipped back to the Democrats in 2020. Analysts suggest that if Harris wins these states, she could secure the presidency. On the other hand, the Sun Belt states-Arizona, Georgia, Nevada, and North Carolina-total 49 electoral votes and have traditionally favored Republicans. If Trump wins all four, he would need one more Rust Belt state to reach the threshold. If Harris emerges victorious, she would make history as the first woman, first Black woman, and first person of South Asian descent to become President of the United States.
