Most of these individuals are aged between 25 and 40. Upon arrival in Delhi, they were handed over to their families by Karnal police. No complaints against agents facilitating their travel were reported. The Trump administration's firm approach to illegal immigration has resulted in increased deportations of individuals without valid residency status.
Illegal Immigration Crackdown
Karnal DSP Sandeep Kumar confirmed that these individuals used the illegal "donkey route" to enter the US. He stated that no agent-related complaints have been received but warned against attempting such illegal methods due to potential severe consequences. An investigation is ongoing to uncover any criminal records among the deportees.
The US government has consistently deported those violating immigration laws or lacking legal grounds to stay in the country. Since Donald Trump took office as President in January this year, there has been a significant crackdown on illegal immigrants by US law enforcement agencies.
Organised Crime Arrest
In a separate development, Haryana's Special Task Force (STF) arrested Lakhwinder Singh, alias Lakha. He is a close associate of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and was apprehended after being deported from the USA. Singh had been operating under Anmol Bishnoi's directions since 2022 and was involved in extortion and firing incidents in Haryana and Punjab.
Lakhwinder Singh has a notable criminal history with cases registered across several districts including Sonipat, Rohtak, Yamuna Nagar, Kaithal, and Ambala. A Look Out Circular (LOC) and Red Corner Notice (RCN) were issued against him in 2023 and 2024 respectively by STF Haryana.
