US Army Bars Transgender People From Enlisting In Military With Immediate Effect

The United States has barred transgender people to enlist in the military with immediate effect following an executive order banning "transgender ideology" and "invented pronouns" in the troops.

The US Army's Announcement

In a statement posted on X, the US Army said all new accessions for people with a history of gender dysphoria are paused while stopping all medical procedures related to facilitating or affirming a gender transition for service members.

In a post the US Army wrote, "The #USArmy will no longer allow transgender individuals to join the military and will stop performing or facilitating procedures associated with gender transition for service members. Stay tuned for more details." It further added, "Effective immediately, all new accessions for individuals with a history of gender dysphoria are paused, and all unscheduled, scheduled, or planned medical procedures associated with affirming or facilitating a gender transition for Service members are paused."

What The Order Says?

Last month, US President Donald Trump had said that he had signed four executive orders that will reshape the military, including banning transgender service members from serving in the US armed forces.

The US Army further states, "Individuals with gender dysphoria have volunteered to serve our country and will be treated with dignity and respect.

"The order signed by the President last month stated that soldiers who identify themselves as any gender other than the one assigned at birth "conflicts with a soldier's commitment to an honourable, truthful, and disciplined lifestyle, even in one's personal life."

The order read: "Consistent with the military mission and longstanding DoD policy, expressing a false 'gender identity' divergent from an individual's sex cannot satisfy the rigorous standards necessary for military service,"

"Beyond the hormonal and surgical medical interventions involved, adoption of a gender identity inconsistent with an individual's sex conflicts with a soldier's commitment to an honourable, truthful and disciplined lifestyle, even in one's personal life," it added.
