United Airlines Flight Diverted Amid 'Biohazard' Scare: Crew Vomits, Passengers Seek Masks

A United Airlines flight from Houston to Boston was diverted to Washington D.C. after a "biohazard" incident on Sunday morning caused crew members to vomit and passengers to request masks.

The unscheduled landing occurred for a "deep clean" after a passenger fell ill. According to United Airlines, the situation became so severe that both crew members and passengers started feeling unwell, prompting the pilots to request a diversion.

Biohazard On United Airlines Flight

"I talked to the crew and it sounds like it's quite bad back there. The crew is vomiting, and passengers all around are asking for masks," a crew member was heard saying in audio from the flight. "With this kind of being a biohazard, I think we need to get this plane on the ground ASAP," they added.

Flight 2477, en route to Boston, safely landed at Washington Dulles Airport.

None of the 155 passengers and six crew members required medical assistance upon landing. The aircraft is currently undergoing a deep clean, and the airline is working to get customers on their way to Boston soon.
