Who Is David? Man Seen Cheering During Charlie Kirk Assassination Breaks Silence
An unidentified man, who appeared to be cheering at a Utah Valley University event after Charlie Kirk was shot, has spoken out on social media. Claiming to be David on X, he clarified that he wasn't celebrating the violence. Instead, he insisted that his chants of "USA" were meant to distract and potentially save lives.
The incident was captured on live TV and quickly spread across social media platforms. The footage shows a young man in a black T-shirt and backward baseball cap raising his hands and shouting "USA! USA! USA!" moments after Kirk, 31, was shot in the neck by a sniper during a campus debate.

David's Explanation
David explained his initial reaction to the gunfire in the viral video. Wearing what seemed like the same tan backward cap, he said he initially mistook the sound for fireworks or a prank. However, when he saw no smoke, he realised it was gunfire. He then noticed Kirk's injury through his friend's reaction and instinctively checked the security team's actions before standing up.
He emphasised that he never intended to celebrate anyone's harm, although he admitted having limited familiarity with Kirk's work. David later shared another emotional video where he described himself as "the happiest person you ever met" but expressed frustration over the ridicule surrounding such tragedies.
Criticism of Public Figures
In his longer video, David criticised well-known personalities like Steven Crowder, John Oliver, and Matt Walsh. He accused them of engaging in mockery from both sides of political debates, which he believes is harming people like "my soldiers." However, he did not clarify who these "soldiers" are.
The FBI identified Tyler Robinson, a 22-year-old student from Utah, as the suspect in the shooting. Charlie Kirk was fatally shot during a live Q&A session at Utah Valley University on Wednesday. Known for his conservative views, Kirk founded Turning Point USA and was closely associated with Trump.
The video of David went viral on social media with users calling it unsettling and "psychotic." One user commented that David seemed aware of the shooter's location and cheered after Kirk fell lifelessly to the ground.
David claimed that his actions were misunderstood and reiterated that his intention was never to glorify violence or tragedy. His statements have sparked discussions about public reactions during crises and how they are perceived online.
