Unidentified assailants shot dead professor in Pakistan
Islamabad, April 29: A university professor was shot dead in Pakistan's port city of Karachi on Wednesday, media reported.
Assistant professor Dr Syed Wahidur Rahman of University of Karachi was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Federal B area, Dawn online reported.
Dr Rahman was an instructor at the Mass Communication department of the university.
The assailants managed to flee the scene soon after the gun-attack. His body was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital in Karachi for postmortem.
Earlier in September of last year, Prof Dr Muhammad Shakeel Auj, dean of the faculty of Islamic Studies at KU was shot dead on University Road in Gulshan-i-Iqbal.

On the otherhand, at least five suspects have been killed in police encounters in different parts on the city. Police claimed that the deceased were involved in various crimes including grenade attacks and murders.
