Experiencing the Reality

A video posted on social media by the Israeli foreign ministry captures this alarming moment. It shows Cleverly running for cover amidst the sudden siren alert indicating potential danger from Hamas rockets. The caption accompanying this video reads, "This is the reality Israelis live with every day."

Reflecting upon this experience, Cleverly shared his thoughts on social media stating how every Israeli man, woman, and child lives under constant threat from these rockets. He further added that witnessing a glimpse of what millions experience daily reaffirms their solidarity towards Israel.

An Unprecedented Offensive

The recent surge in violence dates back to October 7 when fighters from Hamas broke through the border fence into southern Israel via air, land and sea routes. In response to this intrusion, Israel mobilized 360,000 reservists vowing an unprecedented offensive against Hamas which governs Gaza Strip.

As we reach Day 5 of this conflict escalation; casualty reports indicate more than 1,200 people killed in Israel including 155 soldiers while Gaza accounts for approximately 950 deaths inclusive of 260 children and 230 women according to local authorities there.

Hamas' Continued Aggression

In addition to causing widespread destruction and loss of life, Hamas is also reportedly holding an estimated 150 Israelis as hostages. The group has continued its aggressive stance by firing a heavy barrage of rockets at Israel, particularly targeting the southern town of Ashkelon.

In conclusion, this incident involving the UK foreign secretary underscores the volatile situation in the region and brings to light the daily reality faced by millions living there. It calls for urgent international intervention and diplomatic efforts to restore peace and prevent further loss of innocent lives.
