UK election: When a voter can use proxy?
London, May 7: A voter can make use of an emergency proxy upto 5 pm on the voting day in the UK if he/she is unable to reach the polling booth because of a medical emergency or prior work. Anyone aged over 18 registered to vote can be assigned the task. [Britain heading to hung parliament?]
In case of disability
In case one has a disability, he or she can ask the presiding officer to mark the ballot paper for him or her. A relative or one eligible to vote can also help the voter. In case of a mistake
If a voter makes a mistake in the voting paper, he or she can ask for a replacement paper as long as it hasn't been placed in the vote box.
No photo ID required except Northern Ireland
A voter need not carry a polling card to vote unless he or she is in Northern Ireland where a photo ID is required for casting the ballot.
