UK Airspace Shuts Due To Failure Of Air Traffic Control System

The airspace of the United Kingdom has been shut down after a major technical issue was found in the country's air traffic control system.

Reportedly, the UK's National Air Traffic Services (NATS) informed that they have 'applied traffic flow restrictions to maintain safety' and engineers are trying to fix the issue.

Meanwhile, British Airways has officially addressed the situation while European air traffic authority Eurocontrol warned everyone about the chaos. According to Eurocontrol, disruption occurred from flight data processing system failure within the UK.

Scottish airline Loganair on the other hand took to platform X (formerly Twitter), to inform that the incident had resulted in a network-wide failure of UK air traffic control computer systems.

Loganair posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, "There has been a network-wide failure of UK air traffic control computer systems this morning. Although we are hopeful of being able to operate most intra-Scotland flights on the basis of local coordination and with a minimum of disruption, north-south and international flights may be subject to delays. If you are flying with us today, please check our website for the latest information about your flight before setting off for the airport."

A large number of passengers across the country found themselves in the middle of chaos after the sudden breakdown of the UK's air traffic control system.
