Typhoon-triggered floods trap 395 students in China

Heavy rain brought on by typhoon Kalmaegi since early Wednesday has submerged the first floor of a school building in Yunnan province, where the victims are trapped, Xinhua reported.
About 100 soldiers are at the scene trying to rescue the trapped students and teachers.
The water level of a nearby river rose to 487.8 metres, 1.34 metres higher than the warning level.
Typhoon Kalmaegi has killed at least seven people and caused huge economic losses after it made landfall in south China Tuesday.
