Strong earthquake hits Turkey, causing casualties and damage
A powerful earthquake struck Turkey on August 11, resulting in several injuries and deaths. Numerous buildings were also damaged due to the tremors. The earthquake had a magnitude of 5.7 and its epicenter was in Yesilyurt city of Malatya province. More than 23 people were injured in Malatya and Adiyaman as a result of falls and people throwing themselves off buildings to avoid being crushed under a collapsed building.
