Turkey Cuts All Ties with Israel Over Gaza 'Genocide', Erdogan Vows Accountability From Netanyahu
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced that his government has severed all ties with Israel due to the ongoing genocide in the Gaza Strip.
Speaking to journalists on November 13, following his visits to Saudi Arabia and Azerbaijan, Erdogan stated, "The government of the Republic of Turkey, under my leadership, will not continue or develop relations with Israel."

He added, "Our ruling coalition is firm in its decision to cut ties with Israel, and we will maintain this position in the future as well. We, as the Republic of Turkey and its government, have currently severed all relations with Israel."
Erdogan condemned Israel's actions in Palestine, promising to hold Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accountable for what he referred to as genocide.
He expressed deep concern over Israel's escalating aggression in Palestinian territories and Lebanon, warning that the flow of weapons and ammunition would only intensify the situation.
He reiterated the need for an immediate ceasefire and for continuous and regular humanitarian aid to be provided to those in need.
Since October 2023, Turkey has been vocally condemning Israel's actions in Gaza, accusing the country of massacres against Palestinian civilians, calling for a ceasefire, and applying significant pressure on Tel Aviv.
In May, Turkey stopped trade with Israel, despite limiting exports of 54 goods. However, Israel's aggression against Gaza has continued unabated.
Since the war began on October 7, 2023, Israel's assault on Gaza has resulted in the deaths of 43,712 Palestinians, with 103,258 others injured, according to Gaza's Ministry of Health. At least 10,000 people remain missing, presumed dead and buried under the rubble.
