Local media footage revealed enormous smoke clouds and a significant fire at the Kahramankazan site, approximately 40 kilometres north of Ankara. Haberturk TV reported an ongoing "hostage situation" without further details. Meanwhile, private NTV television mentioned gunshots following the explosion around 4:00 pm (1300 GMT).
