Kamchatka Sees Sea Level Rise, Up to 4-Metre Waves
The Kamchatka region of Russia also experienced significant effects. Waves up to 4 meters high crashed into coastal towns, flooding streets and damaging infrastructure. According to Sergei Lebedev, multiple locations across Kamchatka witnessed water levels rising between 3 and 4 meters.
In the immediate aftermath, seismic sensors picked up strong aftershocks, and warning systems activated across Russia's Far East. Authorities continue to monitor the situation and assist affected residents. Emergency teams remain on standby for any repeat waves or additional seismic activity.
