Trump To Big Tech: Stop Hiring In India, Prioritize American Workers

US President Donald Trump has issued a stern directive to major tech companies like Google and Microsoft, urging them to stop hiring talent from overseas, particularly countries like India. Speaking at an AI Summit held in Washington on Wednesday, Trump emphasized that American tech giants must prioritize creating jobs within the United States instead of outsourcing roles to Indian professionals or building factories in China.

"We need US technology companies to be all in for America. We want you to put America first. You have to do that. That's all we ask," Trump declared during his address.

At the same summit, Trump signed three new executive orders focused on strengthening the nation's artificial intelligence capabilities. The first, titled "Winning the Race", outlines a comprehensive national strategy to accelerate AI development, streamline the construction of datacenters, and simplify AI infrastructure building. The goal is to make the US the global leader in AI technology.

The second order targets companies that receive federal funding for AI development. These companies will now be required to ensure their AI models are politically neutral. Trump criticized previous administrations for pushing "woke" policies that he believes hindered technological progress. "We are getting rid of woke," he said, stating that AI should remain ideology-free, accurate, and unbiased. The same standard will apply to AI systems used by government agencies.

Trump also expressed his dislike for the term "artificial intelligence," suggesting it undermines the power and brilliance of the technology. "It's not artificial, it's genius," he said.

The third executive order aims to strengthen the global competitiveness of American AI products by promoting their export and encouraging full-stack development within the country.

Though these decisions won't affect hiring policies overnight, they signal a potential tightening of opportunities for Indian tech professionals if Trump returns to power.
