Trump Says ‘Fordow Is Gone’ After Massive US Airstrikes On Iranian Nuclear Sites

In a dramatic escalation of the Iran-Israel conflict, the United States has officially entered the fray, targeting key components of Iran's nuclear infrastructure. President Donald Trump confirmed on Saturday that American forces carried out coordinated airstrikes on three major Iranian nuclear sites: Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan.

Taking to Truth Social, Trump revealed that a "very successful" operation had been conducted, stating, "We have completed our very successful attack on the three Nuclear sites in Iran, including Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan. All planes are now outside of Iran air space. A full payload of BOMBS was dropped on the primary site, Fordow. All planes are safely on their way home."

In a follow-up, Trump reshared a post from an open-source intelligence monitoring platform, simply reading, "Fordow is gone," signaling what appears to be a major blow to Iran's nuclear programme.

The Israeli offensive against Iran's nuclear capabilities began on June 13, with Israel claiming Tehran was nearing the final stages of developing a nuclear weapon. The U.S. entry into the campaign had been anticipated, but confirmation came only after Saturday's airstrikes.

President Trump is scheduled to address the nation at 10 PM EDT regarding the operation. This direct American intervention has drawn swift attention worldwide, given Iran's previous warnings about foreign involvement. On Wednesday, Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei warned the U.S. that any aggression would lead to "irreparable damage." Similarly, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei had declared that any U.S. military engagement would trigger "an all-out war in the region."

Despite the gravity of the attack, Trump emphasized that he had no intention of deploying American ground troops to Iran. Speaking to reporters on Friday, he reiterated that point and noted that a final decision on strikes had been under consideration for the past two weeks, though developments on the ground forced a more immediate response.

Fox News has reported that the U.S. used six bunker-buster bombs to hit the heavily fortified Fordow facility, and launched approximately 30 Tomahawk cruise missiles at the other nuclear locations.

Iran's state media outlet IRNA, quoting local provincial officials, confirmed that the Fordow nuclear facility had indeed been attacked. Meanwhile, Israel's public broadcaster Kan cited an Israeli official who stated that the strikes were carried out "in full coordination" between Israel and the United States.

Further details from the White House and the Pentagon are still awaited, including the nature of the munitions used and the extent of damage inflicted. Trump did confirm the use of B-2 stealth bombers in the attack but did not elaborate on the specific payloads or timing of future operations.
