Donald Trump Safe Following Reported Gunshots Near His Florida Home
Donald Trump was confirmed safe after gunshots were reported near him in Florida on Sunday afternoon, according to his campaign and the Secret Service. The incident occurred shortly before 2 pm, but it remains unclear if the shots were aimed at the Republican presidential nominee. "The former president is safe," stated the Secret Service.

Approximately two months ago, Trump survived an assassination attempt at a rally in Pennsylvania, where a bullet grazed his ear. This weekend, Trump returned to Florida after a West Coast trip that included a Friday night rally in Las Vegas and a fundraiser in Utah.
Security Measures and Investigation
Trump's security has been heightened since the July assassination attempt. At Trump Tower in New York, dump trucks form a barrier outside the building. During outdoor rallies, he speaks from behind bulletproof glass. A message sent to campaign officials about the security status and location of Ohio Sen. JD Vance, Trump's running mate, was not immediately answered.
The White House confirmed that President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris had been briefed on the situation and would receive updates on the investigation. They expressed relief knowing Trump was unharmed. A Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office spokesperson reported no injuries from the incident.
Eyewitness Accounts and Law Enforcement Response
Max Egusquiza of Palm Beach described the emergency response outside Trump's West Palm Beach golf course: "From what I saw, five black unmarked SUVs blocked in a grey Mercedes in front of the golf course. There were about 20 or more cop cars flying from nearby streets," he said.
A law enforcement official, speaking anonymously due to the ongoing investigation, mentioned that authorities were determining whether the shots were fired near Trump's West Palm Beach golf course or on its grounds. The official was not authorised to speak publicly and provided information to The Associated Press under anonymity.
Reactions and Statements
Senator Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., one of Trump's key congressional allies, posted on X that he had spoken with Trump after the incident. He noted that Trump was in "good spirits" and described him as "one of the strongest people I've ever known."
The campaign did not release further details immediately following the incident. Trump often spends his mornings playing golf before having lunch at the Trump International Golf Club West Palm Beach, one of three clubs he owns in Florida.
The Secret Service is actively investigating the incident to determine more details about the gunshots reported near Donald Trump. The situation remains under close scrutiny by law enforcement agencies.
