Donald Trump has urged NATO to impose tariffs on China and halt purchases of Russian oil as measures to end the Ukraine conflict. He emphasised unified action among NATO members to pressure Moscow and save lives.

Donald Trump has called on NATO to implement significant tariffs on China, ranging from 50 to 100 percent, as a strategy to pressure Moscow. He also urged the alliance to stop buying Russian oil. This proposal aims to end the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

In a detailed message on Truth Social, Trump addressed NATO members and the global community. He stated that Washington is ready to impose severe sanctions on Russia. However, he emphasized that this would only happen if European nations cease their Russian oil purchases and collaborate in a unified effort.

NATO's Role in the Conflict

Trump expressed disappointment with NATO's commitment, noting it hasn't been complete. He found some countries' continued purchase of Russian oil "shocking." He declared his readiness to act once NATO partners are prepared, saying, "Just say when?"

The former president suggested that NATO should collectively impose punitive tariffs on China. He claimed China has significant influence over Russia. According to Trump, these tariffs should remain until peace is achieved and be lifted entirely once the war concludes.

Impact of Tariffs and Sanctions

Trump portrayed his proposal as a solution to what he described as a "deadly, but ridiculous war." He mentioned that 7,118 people had died in the past week alone. Trump argued that the conflict wouldn't have started under his leadership, labeling it "Biden's and Zelenskyy's war."

He stated his intention is solely to help end the conflict and save lives in both Russia and Ukraine. Trump insisted that if NATO follows his advice, the war would conclude swiftly. Otherwise, he warned it would waste time, energy, and resources of the United States.
