Trump believes CIA systems 'outdated' after hack: White House
WikiLeaks had released confidential documents from the CIA, claiming that the spy agency turned TVs and smartphones into weapons for surveillance.
Washington, March 10: US President Donald Trump believes that the CIA's systems are outdated, the White House said on Thursday, after WikiLeaks released a trove of documents linked to the agency's cyber espionage operations.
"He believes that the systems at the CIA are outdated and need to be updated," said White House spokesman Sean Spicer, echoing leaker Julian Assange's criticism of "devastating incompetence" at the spy agency.
WikiLeaks on Tuesday released what it termed as the biggest-ever leak of confidential documents from the CIA, claiming the America's premier spy agency partnered with foreign intelligence agencies to turn TVs and smartphones into weapons for surveillance. It alleges that CIA infested and collected intelligence through smart TVs, and phone.
