Transgender couple's unique step to change mindset

Bogota, Dec 25: A transgender couple from Ecuador is creating history by announcing their unique pregnancy which is making headlines around the world.

In a first of its kind, the father is carrying baby of his transgender partner because his partner still has her pre-transgender male parts.

Diane (female partner) still has her pre-transgender male parts while Fernando, 22, has a uterus, hence later has decided to conceive on her behalf. The couple's step is expected to bring about a new change towards society's thinking towards transgenders.

Fernando Machado and Diane Rodriguez announced their pregnancy and also believe it to be a first of its kind case in South America. This news is garnering attention from across the continent and is believed to be good news for Trans gender's rights and freedom.

"Me and my partner have decided to publicize our pregnancy to help change attitude all over the world," said Rodriguez who is one of the prominent LGBT activists.

"We have not undergone with any gender reassignment surgery, so the child is conceived in an old-fashioned way with no such medical complications as this history will break the myths about trans-sexuality" they further said.
