Three Killed, Three Injured in Columbus, Ohio Shooting

In a tragic incident that unfolded in the early hours of the weekend, Columbus, Ohio, became the scene of a devastating shooting that left three dead and three others injured. The violence erupted shortly before 3 a.m. Saturday in the Italian Village neighbourhood, just north of downtown Columbus. Authorities reported hearing what seemed to be semi-automatic or automatic gunfire, followed by the sound of cars hastily leaving the area.

Deputy Chief Gregory Bodker, addressing the media, described arriving at a "very chaotic scene" where six individuals had been shot. Two men were found deceased at the location, while a third succumbed to his injuries at a hospital. The victims were later identified as 27-year-old Malachi Pee, 26-year-old Garcia Dixon Jr., and 18-year-old Daondre Bullock.

The incident also left three other people wounded, with one in critical condition and two others stable. Despite the severity of their injuries, all were expected to make a recovery. Deputy Chief Bodker noted that several witnesses were cooperating with investigators to piece together the events that led to the shooting.

While there is a bar situated on the corner near the crime scene, it remains unclear whether any of those involved had been patrons there prior to the incident. As of now, no suspects have been identified, and the motive behind this violent act is still under investigation.

To assist in documenting the extensive crime scene, the Franklin County sheriff's office deployed a drone. Meanwhile, police continued their efforts to collect evidence and video footage that might shed light on this tragic event. The community is left reeling as authorities work diligently to uncover details and bring those responsible to justice.
