Tragic Loss: Hyderabad Man, 30, Dies In Russian-Ukrainian Conflict - All You Need To Know
A 30-year-old man from Hyderabad, Md. Afsan, died while fighting for Russia in the Ukraine war, allegedly coerced into joining the Russian Army through job fraud.
Alongside several others, Afsan was deceived by fraudulent agents who recruited them as 'helpers' for the Russian army.

Hyderabad Man Dies In Russian War
The tragic incident follows the Ministry of External Affairs' (MEA) efforts to facilitate the early discharge of approximately 20 Indians serving as support staff to the Russian army. The MEA clarified through a press release that recent media reports about Indians seeking help for discharge from the Russian army were inaccurate.
Russian army video viral
A new video surfaced yesterday featuring seven men claiming they are being compelled by Russia to participate in the Ukraine war against their will. In the now-viral video, the seven men can be observed wearing army uniforms. Recorded in a room, six of them are seen standing in a corner as another discusses their situation, as reported by Time Now.
"We came to Russia as tourists for the New Year on December 27 and encountered an agent who facilitated our visits to different places. He proposed taking us to Belarus, but we were unaware of the need for a visa for the country. We went to Belarus where we provided money to him, but he demanded more. Stranded on a highway as we lacked the money to pay him," one of the men can be heard stating in Hindi in the video, as per Indian Express report.
"Subsequently, we were apprehended by the police who handed us over to the Russian army. They confined us in an undisclosed location for about three to four days. Later, they coerced us into signing a contract with them to work as helpers, drivers, and cooks, threatening to imprison us for 10 years if we refused. The contract was in their language, which we couldn't comprehend, but we signed it. They enrolled us in a training center, and we later realized they had deceived us. They enlisted us in their army and provided training," he alleges.
"After training, we were dispatched to Ukraine, and some of our friends were placed on the frontline. And now they are indicating they will deploy us to the frontline. We are unprepared for any warfare, and we are incapable of handling guns proficiently, yet they are compelling us to engage in the conflict against Ukraine. We are hopeful that the Indian government and embassy will assist us," he concludes.
