    • The fire broke out at 4:30 am local time in the kitchen of a residential building. By the time authorities were informed at 6 am, the fire had spread rapidly, trapping many inside.
    • According to Kuwait Times, about 160 workers of the same company were residing in the building. A Kerala-based website, Onmanorama, stated that five individuals from Kerala are among the ten Indians who perished in the incident.
    • The building, housing workers from Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and north India, belongs to the NBTC Group. The company's owner is KG Abraham, a Malayali businessman. Reports suggest that while the fire has been extinguished, some people remain trapped.
    • Kuwait's Interior Minister, Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousuf Al-Sabah, visited the site and blamed the owners. "This tragedy is due to the greed of the company and building owners," he said. Immediate actions have been ordered to address such violations.
    • External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar expressed shock over the incident. "Deeply shocked by the news. Our ambassador is at the camp, and we are awaiting further information," he wrote on X.
    • The Indian embassy has issued an emergency helpline number: +965-65505246. Adarsh Swaika, the Indian envoy, visited the site to assess the situation.
