18 killed as tornadoes strike central US

Several tornadoes took the people by surprise, some who even became victims of it. The tornadoes lashed the Midwest and South regions, with Arkansas and Oklahoma being the worst hit.
Rescue workers were pressed immediately into action, looking for survivors. About 45 homes were damaged in Mayflower, close to Northwest. The tornadoes passed through the towns, uprooting trees and bringing down powerlines.
Meanwhile in Oklahoma, one person was killed. The police has not yet confirmed the number of fatalities.
The damage was such that no vehicles were allowed to enter the affected areas except for the rescue op vehicles.
