Chicago shooting - Three police officers injured

Washington, March 15: Three police officers were injured in a shooting in the US city of Chicago, the media reported on Tuesday.

The officers were responding to drug-related complaints in the city and suspected two people in the case, the Chicago Tribune reported.

The suspects opened fire when the officers confronted them on Monday night. Three officers were wounded and taken to the hospital, according to the police.

The office of Chicago mayor also released a statement commending the bravery of the police officers.

One of the two suspects was shot and killed, while the other fled.
